The Name #
The 6 Pitbulls Company started as a running joke between my son and me when he was young. It was a direct response to his own 'company', and one of the earliest examples of our father-son dynamic. It stuck.
We've had pitbulls in the house as long as we've been married - some ours, a lot of them fosters. They're loyal, stubborn, and loving, and perceptive in ways that surprise you. If I had to pick a favorite animal, they'd be it.
We currently have three: Jasmine is our elderly lady who's still up for a mile walk every day, and won't let her aches get in the way of following me around the house. Pepper is our reactive foster fail. He's working on it, but he's a handful outside the house. Dilly is a pitbull/husky mix, which means she's in training to be my 'jog dog'.
About Me #
I live in Western NY with my wife, two adult kids, three dogs, two cats, and a running plan I work to follow closely, injuries permitting.
I work in cybersecurity risk management. It's a good career, and it keeps me learning. It isn't how I'd introduce myself at a party though.
Outside of work, my (jealously guarded) discretionary time goes to bouldering, running, and lifting. Bouldering a few times a week when my body is cooperating, running on that structured plan, and lifting as most people are waking up. I also love to read, play games (tabletop and video), and am endlessly fascinated by learning the minutiae surrounding hobbies I'll never actually pick up.
My two adult kids work a lot and are building out their own social circles. The house is quieter than it used to be, although the dogs try to fill the gap.
Consulting #
With my background in cybersecurity, and more recently cybersecurity risk, I've done work for smaller companies when the problem was the right fit. If you're running a small or medium-sized business and have a security need, feel free to get in touch.
